Organic Soursop (Guanabana, Graviola) is a fruit imported from Grenada, native to south and central America. It is in the same genus, Annona, as cherimoya and is in the Annonaceae family.

The flavor has been described as a combination of pineapple, mango, contrasting with an underlying creamy flavor reminiscent of banana and pear. Soursop is also widely promoted as an alternative cancer treatment. Soursop is hailed as a wonder herb. Its popularity as a natural remedy for viruses, pain relief, mood enhancing, reducing inflammation, improving the immune system and healing stomach issues.

How to ripen:

Soursop is a tropical fruit and is best when left to ripen on the counter.
To help speed up the ripening process, place the fruit in a paper bag or wrapped it in a kitchen towel and placed in a dry, warm area. The fruit is ripe when it is soft to the touch. The skin of the fruit may darken slightly. Do not store unopened Soursop in refrigerator to ripen.

How to consume:

The most common way is to eat soursop is to break it open (using hands) and consume the white flesh. You can juice it, blend it, or make it into ice cream as well.

Do NOT consume the seeds or the center stem.

We receive our shipment from Grenada on Tuesdays and will mail out your order by Tuesday evening. Due the perishability of the fruit, orders received after Monday night (10pm) will be mailed on the following week.
